History is important.  Landmarks are reminders of significant moments in our lives, not places to build homes and stay.  In biblical times, people built landmarks and alters in places where something significant and life changing happened.  But after the event, and the alter built, people moved on with their lives.  They continued on their journeys.  We need to do the same in our lives today.  We need to build our landmarks, grieve, rest, and keep it moving.  There's so much truth in transparency.  This discussion is definitely transparent.  This conversation blessed me.  I'm hope it will bless you too.  I had the great opportunity to interview a history maker, Michelle Walker-Wade.  She's the author of "The Discipline of Kingdom Advancement:  How to move from Kingdom Talk to Kingdom Walk".  We share about landmark moments in our lives.

Description:  I've been a PK (Preacher's Kid)a long time.  Been serving in ministry in and out of churches.  The good, bad, and the ugly, I've seen it.  Many are called.  Those who answer are few.  Those that qualified to serve are even fewer.  My guest, Kris Bowers, is no stranger to preparation and qualification.  This former MMA fighter and sports enthusiast lives his life for Gid to the extreme: Inside and outside of church walls.  Call-in.  Join the discussion.  It's my 1st live show of the year and I wanted to kick off 2019 with a bang.  I couldn't think of a better guest to do that.  His fights, and conversations usually end with a tap, snap, or a nap.  And there's no nooooo nappin' here.

Trust is a thing that so many of us struggle with. It requires letting go and taking steps off life’s cliff without a safety net.  My guest, Dr. Micah Parker, Athletic Director at Cal Baptist Univ. and founder of Trust Guy Ministries, knows a little something about Trust.  Dr Parker was blessed with an unexpected and incredible adversity that helped shape his original message.  His personal testimony is about how to truly trust Jesus Christ with your entire life, regardless of the circumstances.  Join us and for this life changing conversation.

“Baggage Claim”

What we think of ourselves shapes the trajectory of our lives. Our words and thoughts matter. What are you saying and thinking about yourself?  We all have baggage.  We need to take a moment and look at what’s in our bags.  Ignorance isn’t bliss here.  If you don’t know where to start, begin by asking yourself these following questions, and be transparent with yourself:

  • Where you are currently in your lives?

    • Happy, sad, frustrated, angry, stressed, fulfilled?
  • Where are you in your relationship with Christ?
    • Broken and busted, no relationship, on fire and moving forward?
  • Where did you come from?
    • Drugs, alcohol, broken/abusive home, great home, etc.?
  • How did you get here?
    • Choices or circumstances
  • What do you think God thinks about you and what you’re doing?
    • Loved, are you afraid or think you’re unworthy to ask?
  • Are you where you want to be? Yes / No
  • Are you where and who they believe God wants me to be? Yes / No

If  you answer is “No” to either or both of last two questions, then what’s the plan to get there?

“Virtual Reality”

So often we don’t like the reality we live in, so we create one that do like. We invest time and energy there and lose connection on relationships in the same room with us.  Virtual Reality is an emerging new technology.  It has a variety of uses and applications that can benefit humanity.  But, so many of us are using this tech to create worlds of isolation for ourselves.  Why?  Sometimes we don't like ourselves, or someone has done something bad to us that causes us to retreat and withdraw in to world where no one can hurt us.  Join me as I spend some time exploring this topic and the impact of VR on my family and I.
